Role: Technical Writer
Location: Irving, TX
Duration : 12+ Months
Shift Timings: 8 AM to 5 PM
Required Experience:
- The position is for a Technical Writer to write and edit customer-facing instrument manuals. The job involves working closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) under tight deadlines.
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
- Ability to think critically
- Ability to work well under pressure with tight timelines
- Ability to learn quickly
- Knowledge of content management systems and XML (preferred but not required)
- Experience with medical device industry is preferred, but not required. Candidates with backgrounds in regulated industries like aerospace are also welcome
Responsibilities:
- Writing and editing customer manuals (primarily for instruments, occasionally customer letters).
- Collaborating with SMEs, often under tight deadlines.
- Participating in meetings with SMEs to develop labeling.
- The role may require early start times (around 7-8 AM) for coordination with teams in Germany.
- Working as part of a team, collaborating with other writers and graphic designers.
Education and Experience:
- 2-4 years of experience in technical writing.
- A degree is preferred but not required if the candidate has equivalent writing experience.
- Project management and organizational skills are helpful for managing deadlines and project specifications
Interview Process:
- The preferred interview format is in-person, with a potential alternative of Webex if in-person is not feasible.
- The interview typically consists of one round, with the hiring manager and project lead conducting the interview.
