The GC/GC-MS Specialist is an important part of the Research and Analytical team responsible for providing GC, GC/MS, and GC/MS/MS testing for incoming raw materials and company produced products. This individual will participate in the development and validation of methods for testing.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducts analysis using GC, GC/MS and GC/MS/MS to monitor the quality of products and troubleshoot possible causes of deviations.
- Participate in method development, documentation/writing of test method SOPs, method approval, and writing of validation protocols and validation reports for analytical methods.
- Review and implementation of testing and support of quality RAC Training.
- Conduct analytical method development and method validation and support.
- Troubleshoot routine/non-routine problems relating to GC-MS instrumentation and sample preparation.
- Follow SOPs and maintain good documentation during work.
- Adhere/comply with the Quality System for ISO 17025:2017 auditing.
- Complete associated administrative tasks, including archiving, logging, and tracking of samples according to SOPs.
- Review and verify Quality Control testing results by GC-MS methods.
JOB EXPERIENCE:
5+ years of experience in Analytical and /or Food Chemistry, experience with GC/MS method and application development strongly preferred.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
• Familiar with GC, GC-MS, and GC-MS/MS instrumentation.
• Familiarity with FDA GMP/GLP processes and regulatory guidelines is preferred.
• Possesses knowledge of ChemStation and Mass Hunter softwares
• Competent in data collection, analysis, and interpretation
• Exhibits excellent skills in general laboratory techniques with a solid analytical chemistry background.
• Familiar with GMP/GLP and FDA requirements
• Self-motivated and communicates well with team members internally, externally, and cross-functionally.
• Works independently with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Capable of multi-tasking and prioritizing work
• Follow all safety guidelines for laboratory safety.
• Good documentation skills
• Experience with MS Word and Excel
EDUCATION:
BS in Chemistry or related science field, Masters or PhD preferred
