Job Description
The Environment, Health and Safety Laboratory (EHS Lab) is responsible for ensuring that accurate, high-quality data is generated during chemical assessments, including the development of new methodologies to support the company’s core values and commitment to the environment. This role is primarily responsible for conducting routine tests on non-potable environmental samples collected at the waste treatment plant to ensure environmental compliance. Participation in special project work, analytical method upkeep, and data reporting are also required.
EHS Laboratory Key Responsibilities
• Perform routine environmental wet chemistry tests on samples collected to monitor waste effluent and treatment plant performance.
• Environmental monitoring, Carbon testing, nitrate, wet chemical technology, pH testing.
• Troubleshoot experiments, instruments , and notate significant data deviations .
• Maintain chemical inventory system and order supplies accordingly.
• Sanction internal and external laboratories for the analysis of environmental samples .
• Communicate with stakeholders and issue results to internal customers.
• Execute tasks under minimal supervision in a GLP environment.
• Adhere to and support all EHS objectives, procedures, and policies.
Top skills, experience or education requirements
• Background in Chemistry or Biology (lab experience preferred).
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel & Word.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Be able to perform tasks independently under minimal supervision.
• Willingness to build customer relations and communicate with stakeholders.
