Job Summary
The Quality Inspector plays a vital role in ensuring that aerospace components, parts, and products meet stringent quality and reliability standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in aerospace quality inspection, with a focus on precision measurement and adherence to AS9100 standards.
Responsibilities
- Conduct quality control inspections on products, materials, and components at multiple stages of production to ensure compliance with established standards.
- Perform detailed visual inspections of soldered connections, mechanical assemblies, and subassemblies. (electrical and/or mechanical experience)
- Utilize tools such as calipers, micrometers, torque ranges, and ring gauges to inspect wires, sensors, and other aerospace components.
- Prepare and complete necessary documentation, including reporting acceptance or rejection of inspected and/or tested items.
- Identify design, process, or efficiency issues and report quality concerns.
- Analyze statistical data to confirm compliance or identify deviations from quality standards.
- Conduct internal audits and follow up on corrective actions.
- Perform inspections of engineering designs, assemblies, tooling, and final products using
- Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Create First Article Inspection (FAI) reports in compliance with AS9102 and customer-specific requirements.
- Ensure technical quality assurance procedures are implemented and maintained.
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in aerospace quality inspection or related field.
- Experience with all type of inspection tools like: Gauges, calipers, height gages, pin and block gages, V-blocks surface inspection tables, micrometers, and comparators.
- Strong knowledge of AS9100 standards and ISO 9001 quality management systems.
- Skilled in interpreting engineering drawings, including GD&T per ASME Y14.5 standards.
- Experience with blueprints, drawings, and parts lists.
- Familiar with the casting, forging, molding, stainless-steel and electronic components use in Aerospace industry.
- Experience in performing internal audits based on established criteria and records the results.
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
Nice to Have:
- Experience creating First Article Inspection Reports in compliance with AS9102 and customer-specific requirements.
- Dimensional Tolerancing (GD&T) described in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Y14.5 standards.
- Experience completing first articles (FAI) in accordance with the Aerospace Standards AS9102
- Bilingual; fluent in the English and Spanish preferred
