A leading manufacturer of specialized pumps and custom fluid handling systems is seeking a Project/Process Engineer to lead technical activities and ensure project success from initiation to completion. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented engineer with expertise in mechanical, process, and controls design, particularly in rotating and process equipment. Responsibilities:
- Direct all technical activities of his/her assigned projects from sales handover through shipment, as well as field service and warranty requirements.
- Perform detailed engineering designs, develop Piping & Instrumentation (P&IDs) and have a basic understanding of process plant design.
- Have strengths in mechanical, process, and controls design, with a focus on rotating equipment and process equipment.
- Include technical assessment of the customer’s needs and specifications, customer communication, scheduling, specification of material and equipment, management of subcontractors and vendors, management of design resources, and production of key technical documents for projects ranging from $50,000 to $1,000,000 in value.
- Demonstrate technical decision making and problem-solving skills on complete energy-related process equipment projects, primarily performed for higher-spec integrated energy companies and engineering companies as the primary customer base and provide technical support during commissioning and operation.
- Comfortable dealing with complex technical issues and should apply this experience to driving efficiencies and cost reductions on assigned projects.
Requirements:
- BS degree in Engineering or Master’s degree is preferred
- 2-5 years of experience in progressive roles in similar product/market environments; preference for oil & gas related experience, including modular process equipment
- Strong customer-focused background & manufacturing experience desired; technical problem-solving skills are a plus
- Experience working on project teams, including engineering, design, and manufacturing
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
