Java Software Engineer

Optomi, in partnership with a leading point of sales company, is seeking a Java Software Engineer for their Atlanta, Georgia office (hybrid). Candidates must be proficient in Java, Spring Boot, and have experience working with Kubernetes and Docker. Candidates must also be familiar with SQL and NoSQL databases and have experience developing microservices and REST APIs. Experience of the right candidate:

• 4+ years of experience in Software Engineering.
• Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience in GCP (Open to AWS or Azure).
• Experience working with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Understanding/Experience in SQL and NoSQL databases (preference to MongoDB).
• Experience developing microservices and REST APIs.
• Background in industries such as Banking or Retail.
• Familiarity with data platforms, self-service, and checkout technologies.
• Experience working on projects with bar scanners or point-of-sale systems.

Responsibilities of the right candidate:

• Work within the Data Platform Team to develop self-service and checkout functionalities.
• Collaborate on projects involving barcode scanning technology and transaction handling.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to system architecture and database management.
