Quality Control Manager
Position Type: Direct Hire
Position Location: Houston, TX
Position Salary: $70,000 - $100,000 (Depending on Experience)
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a high level of production by maintaining and setting high quality standards.
- Maintain and contribute to overall Safety responsibilities as set forth by management.
- Make sure the Inspection of all testing equipment on a regular basis and report any equipment failure or improper operation to management.
- Delegating the Set-up servicing of equipment with the maintenance department, to ensure proper maintenance and safety
- Oversee the Performance, implementation, and tracking the calibration of all measuring tools.
- Review all Inspections of incoming customer returns. Complete the Inspection of Quality form in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensure Inspection of incoming Spot Buy material and trial purchases from previously untested suppliers is occurring.
- Ensure inspections of material tagged for shipment to a customer with an identified critical end use.
- Oversee inspection processes involving supplier claims. Knowledgeable of suppliers and recognize their individual strengths and weaknesses.
- Responsible for all testing; including coating weight, U.L., mechanicals, etc.
- Responsible for all sample requests. Ensure timely response to customer needs involving samples
- Review customer order requirements for special instructions and follow up.
- Maintain data storage, production order filing system and any others as directed by managers.
- Oversee plotting of all samples on Statistical Charts.
- Investigate corrective actions and trends to determine special causes. Notify management of any problematic trends developing.
- Driving the corrective actions plans to production.
- Oversees and ensures that calibration in performing Repeatability and Reproducibility Capability Studies occurs.
- Assist managers are requested.
- Comply with all company Safety Standards, Compile records and reports as necessary
- Maintain an organized and efficient process for document retention
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in and around assigned area
- Maintain and support all policies, procedures, and quality processes
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED a minimum; Higher education is a plus
- Strong computer and mathematical aptitude
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and work in a team environment.
- Fluent in ISO 9001:2015 knowledge and experience required, internal or lead auditor certification preferred
- Strong knowledge and application of SPC, ASTM A653, and ASTM A924
- Fluent in PowerPoint and standard computer applications (Word, Excel, MS office)
