Senior Accountant will performs professional accounting activities, including data collection, analysis, and communication. This role requires independent judgment, comprehension of complex accounting issues, and the ability to recommend solutions and make presentations. The Senior Accountant may lead citywide or interagency financial projects.
Analyze and prepare complex financial reports - .Develop, implement, and enforce accounting policies and procedures
- .Administer the City’s insurance programs
- .Participate in budget development and maintenance
- .Manage grants, debt, special districts, and cash balances
- .Assist in preparing the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report
- .Maintain the chart of accounts for all City departments
- .Experience in full-cycle accounting and experience in the administration of the client liability, property, auto., and fidelity insurance programs including the claims process
.Minimum Qualifications
- :Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- .At least three years of professional accounting experience
- .CPA license preferred; municipal government experience desirable
- .Valid Washington State driver’s license
- .Must pass a background investigation
