Akkodis is partnering with a client in the healthcare industry who is looking for a Sr. Engineer for a full-time, direct hire position in either Irvine, CA or Dallas, TX. The Senior Engineer for Observability will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of observability tools and processes to enhance system performance, reliability, and monitoring capabilities across our infrastructure.
This role requires a seasoned engineer with deep expertise in monitoring technologies, specifically LogicMonitor, and the ability to create automated, insightful, and actionable observability solutions. Additionally, this role will involve managing vendor relationships, including oversight of our overseas Network Operations Center (NOC), and streamlining communication with carrier aggregator vendors. This engineer will also work closely with our Infrastructure Operations Run/Maintain team to support other offices, focusing on the network stack, SD-WAN (Velocloud), and HPE ProLiant 360 and 380 servers. Familiarity with Juniper or Cisco networking is essential.
The Terms:
- Full-time, direct hire role
- Onsite, Irvine, CA or Dallas, TX
- Pay range: $110,000 - $120,000 annually, plus 15% bonus

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5+ years in observability, monitoring, or infrastructure engineering roles, with a focus on monitoring technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience with LogicMonitor and additional monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace, Splunk).
- Experience working with either Juniper or Cisco networking technologies.
- Familiarity with SD-WAN (preferably Velocloud) and HPE ProLiant servers (360 and 380 models).
- Experience managing vendor relationships, especially with overseas NOCs and carrier aggregators.
- Proficient in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Strong knowledge of observability practices, including log analysis, metrics collection, and tracing.
- Skilled in designing dashboards, creating meaningful reports, and tuning alerts for high accuracy.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Observability & Monitoring
Develop and manage observability infrastructure using LogicMonitor and other monitoring tools.
Implement end-to-end monitoring strategies for various systems, applications, and network components.
Leverage monitoring technologies to ensure real-time visibility into system health and performance.
Manage relationships with key vendors, including our overseas NOC, to ensure optimal service delivery and alignment with internal goals.
Coordinate with carrier aggregator vendors to bridge communication gaps and foster efficient, timely information exchange.
Oversee vendor performance, addressing any service issues or escalations to maintain high-quality monitoring standards.
- Infrastructure Operations Support
Collaborate with the Infrastructure Operations Run/Maintain team to support dental office network infrastructure.
Provide support on the network stack, including Juniper or Cisco technologies, SD-WAN (Velocloud), and HPE ProLiant 360 and 380 servers.
Assist with troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and performance optimization of infrastructure components across office locations.
Build and maintain highly functional, intuitive dashboards that provide clear insights into key metrics.
Generate meaningful reports tailored to diverse audiences, including technical teams, management, and stakeholders.
Develop automated reporting mechanisms that capture critical metrics and trends over time.
Design and fine-tune alerting systems to minimize noise and optimize relevance.
Collaborate with application, network, and operations teams to define alert thresholds, ensuring timely and effective incident detection.
Conduct root cause analysis for alerts and incidents to continuously improve monitoring precision.
Create and maintain scripts (using languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.) to automate monitoring tasks, including data collection and alert configurations.
Develop custom integrations and automation scripts to extend the capabilities of monitoring tools.
- Collaboration & Documentation
Work closely with DevOps, Network, and Application teams to support cross-functional observability initiatives.
Document observability processes, configurations, and best practices to ensure knowledge transfer and scalability.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
