    Certification Details
  • RN: (PCU & Tele): BLS, ACLS
  • LPN: BLS required; ACLS preferred
  • CNA: certified CNA, BLS is not required (per NM)
  • Required Education: Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing

  • PCU RN: Minimum Experience: 1 year
  • Tele RN: Minimum Experience: 1 year
  • LPN: 1 year
  • Travelers must live 100 miles away from any Monument Health facility
  • Previous permanent staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • Patient Types: Adults with a variety of diagnoses
  • Patient Ratios: RN: PCU/Tele - 1:4 (Days & Nights), Med/Surg – 1:5 (Days & Nights), CNA: 1:8 (Days & Nights)
  • Will you accept a first-time traveler? RN: Yes, if greater than 2 years' experience, LPN: No – no exceptions
    Job Requirements
  • PCU RN: cardiac and vasoactive drip titration
  • Tele RN: Cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV starts, Blood product administration
  • LPN: Cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV starts, Blood product administration
  • CNA: acute care experience preferred
    Schedule Information
  • Weekend rotation – Every other or 50% weekends per 4-week schedule. Weekends are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
  • Travelers are not scheduled On Call hours, but may be placed On Call related to Low Census
  • Holiday Expectations: Every other holiday minimum during contracted timeframe
  • Approval of time off? Up to 7 days. Must extend contract if unable to work a full week to accommodate a 13-week contract. No RTO during Sturgis Bike Rally (first 3 weeks every August)
