  • RN: (PCU & Tele): BLS, ACLS
  • LPN: BLS required; ACLS preferred

  • Will you accept a first-time traveler? RN: Yes, if greater than 2 years' experience
  • Travelers must live 100 miles away from any Monument Health facility
  • Previous permanent staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • Patient Types: Adults with a variety of diagnoses including CHF, ARF, hepatitis, ESLD, DM, DKA, pneumonia, sepsis, GI bleed, syncope, chest pain, pulmonary emboli, respiratory failure, COPD, arrhythmias, seizure disorders, overdose, and delirium tremors.
  • Patient Ratios: RN: PCU/Tele - 1:4 (Days & Nights), Med/Surg – 1:5 (Days & Nights), CNA: 1:8 (Days & Nights)
    Job Requirements
  • Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing
  • Skills required
  • ICU RN qualified to float to ED
  • PCU RN qualified to float to ICU
    Schedule Information
  • Weekend rotation – Every other or 50% weekends per 4-week schedule. Weekends are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
  • Holiday Expectations: Every other holiday minimum during contracted timeframe
  • Approval of time off? Up to 7 days. Must extend contract if unable to work a full week to accommodate a 13-week contract. No RTO during Sturgis Bike Rally (first 3 weeks every August).
    Unit Specific Information
  • Comfortability working alongside an LPN/Team Nursing
  • Staffing model on 6th floor where med-surg pts are cohort moving toward an RN paired with an LPN
  • Support on the Unit
  • CNA (Ratio: 1:8 both Days & Nights)
  • Charge nurse: Yes – 2 for the unit (free-floating), 24/7
  • Centralized Tele Monitoring: 24/7 to assist with Tele reading and alarm notifications
