LPN: BLS required; ACLS preferred
CNA: certified CNA, BLS is not required (per NM)

General Information
Beds: 56
PCU RN: Minimum Experience: 1 year
Tele RN: Minimum Experience: 1 year
LPN: 1 year
Will you accept a first-time traveler? RN: Yes, if greater than 2 years' experience
Travelers must live 100 miles away from any Monument Health facility
Previous permanent staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
Patient Types: Adults with a variety of diagnoses including CHF, ARF, hepatitis, ESLD, DM, DKA, pneumonia, sepsis, GI bleed, syncope, chest pain, pulmonary emboli, respiratory failure, COPD, arrhythmias, seizure disorders, overdose, and delirium tremors.
Patient Ratios: RN: PCU/Tele - 1:4 (Days & Nights), Med/Surg – 1:5 (Days & Nights), CNA: 1:8 (Days & Nights)
Job Requirements
Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing
Skills required
ICU RN qualified to float to ED
PCU RN qualified to float to ICU
Schedule Information
Weekend rotation – Every other or 50% weekends per 4-week schedule. Weekends are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Holiday Expectations: Every other holiday minimum during contracted timeframe
Approval of time off? Up to 7 days. Must extend contract if unable to work a full week to accommodate a 13-week contract. No RTO during Sturgis Bike Rally (first 3 weeks every August).
Unit Specific Information
Comfortability working alongside an LPN/Team Nursing
Staffing model on 6th floor where med-surg pts are cohort moving toward an RN paired with an LPN
Support on the Unit
CNA (Ratio: 1:8 both Days & Nights)
Charge nurse: Yes – 2 for the unit (free-floating), 24/7
Centralized Tele Monitoring: 24/7 to assist with Tele reading and alarm notifications

Audits are done monthly for Pre/Post Pain Scoring – must meet 90% compliance
