Tregaskiss, a division of ITW Canada Inc . is a manufacturer of high-quality welding products and is in Windsor Ontario, Canada.
About the Role:
Tregaskiss currently has an opening for a MIG Gun Division Product Design Engineer, at our Windsor facility. This position will report directly to the Windsor, Ontario, Canada office.
Responsibilities:
- Work with internal and external stakeholders (including suppliers, end user, etc.) to take design and development projects from conception, through the design, build, test and launch phases.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to problem solve and update project progress.
- Manage project priorities and deliverables.
- Conduct product risk assessments and develop/manage risk mitigation plans.
- Investigate and troubleshoot product challenges related to quality, performance and manufacturing.
- Complete continuous improvement initiatives on existing products. Participate in VA/VE projects.
- Participate in customer visits, as required to develop an understanding of product use, and to optimize product design and or troubleshooting.
Qualifications:
The candidate will have completed a post-secondary program in the field of Mechanical or Electromechanical Engineering, including 3 + years of experience.
Required Skills:
- Strong understanding of materials, engineering theory and principles of design, particularly Design for Manufacturing and Assembly Proficient user of SolidWorks (or similar CAD software) and Microsoft Office applications
- Demonstrated project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Design for machining and fabricating GMAW welding process (including welding aluminum)
- Electrical and controls system engineering knowledge considered an asset.
- Experience with CAD simulation software (FEA, Flow, Thermal) is considered an asset.
