Title : Enterprise Database Architect/Database Architect/Database Platform Architect
Location : Toronto, ON M5J 0A8
Duration : 06 months (Contract to hire)
Min 6-8 years of overall experience is required.
This role involves the following:
- Database - 70%
- 10% database security, Database policy and compliance focused.
- 20% CoE – projects, etc.
Databases must to have - MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Databricks.
What can you expect?
- Manage the DPT CoE; organise steering committee meetings and ensure the CoE remains on target with strategy, goals and plans – defining the Database platform strategy and roadmap
- Acts as the primary point of contact with CoE steering committee and other groupsoss.
- Work as a mentor for the Database Services Engineering organization
- In this role you will design standards and best practices, continually improving processes and challenging the status quo.
- Drive engineering excellence
Duties:
- Works on new DB tech and POCs (35%)
- Works on Best Practices (20%)
- Works on DB Service improvement (20%)
- Works on Engineering (15%)
- Works Audit & Compliance (10%)
What you need to have:
- Strong skill set in Database Security.
- A degree in computer science, Information Systems Management, or Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and work experience is acceptable.
Sound knowledge and understanding of:
- ITIL processes
- Audit drivers and processes
- Security policies and processes
- Database monitoring tools
- Excellent technical knowledge in supporting Windows and Linux based Database Technologies in one or more of SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB, Postgres, MySqL.
- Cloud computing technologies and environments as well as containerization.
