Solution Architect- E-Banking

Apex Systems is a global IT services provider and our consulting practice has an opening for a Solution Architect- E-Banking with java experience for a Top Five Bank.

Client: Big 5 Bank

Location : Hybrid; 1- 2 days a week in Toronto

Terms : 6 Month Contract with expected PERM Conversion

Hours: 37.5 hours/week Monday-Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

What You’ll Be Doing

The Digital technology group serving retail and small business customers. This group provides strategic partnership, production support and project execution to primary internet sites Online Banking, and Mobile Banking.

You will be at the heart of the Digital Transformation, successfully delivering complex, enterprise-scale technical solutions on modern platforms in Cloud with a variety of system integration and patterns. As a Application Consultant, you have a deep understanding of the architecture and all technical aspects and layers of our system. Your design offers simple, flexible, easily maintainable and personalized solutions that enhance the client experience across main Digital channels.

How You’ll Succeed

• Application Architecture and Design: Perform and coordinate complex solution design activities. Understand the business requirements and translate them into system and application design that is aligned with our technology roadmap. Design and document the technical functionality, infrastructure, interfaces and integrations. Lead the design of cost-effective and innovative solutions to meet both business objectives and the goal of operational efficiency.
• Strategic Planning: Contribute to technology roadmaps that are aligned with the bank’s vision, strategy, and business objectives. Lead multiple complex technology solutions while maintaining consistency across the platform, adopting best practices and pushing forward continuous improvements
• Stakeholder Management: Act as the solution lead and interface with the project teams by driving and moderating design review sessions to walk stakeholders through, and ensure that the overall design aligns with business requirements as well as architectural directions. Support and mentor junior designers and developers through knowledge sharing, collaboration and effective problem solving
• Coaching: Coach and guide development teams and other partners throughout the project life cycle in understanding and implementing proper solutions.

Who You Are

• You can demonstrate experience in:
• Microservices architecture, Cloud native concepts, common design/integration patterns, and popular standards like OAuth and Open Banking.
• Background knowledge on Java/J2EE, Spring/Springboot, Web Services (SOAP, JSON and RESTFul).
• It is an asset if you are familiar with Agile methodologies and Cloud environments (Kubernetes, Azure/OCP or equivalent)

Responsibilities:

• Seasoned solution architect that has experience in designing enterprise scale applications
• Modern architecture, security and integration patterns, e.g. Microservice, event driven, domain driven design, Oauth, Cloud native concepts
• Java, Spring/Springboot background. Is not required to code but needs to be hands on, able to navigate code and conduct code reviews
• Fluent in communication. Able to articulate technical ideas to both technology and business audience
• Excellent presentation skills: Need to handle management, business, and executive level presentations.
• Collaborative in nature
• Great sense of ownership and responsibility
• Self driven and proactive
• Able to coach and guide development team throughout implementation cycle of the solution.

Expectations

• 8+ years of Solution/design experience
• Lead and own end to end solution for Digital Technology, from frontend to backend, covering both functional and non-functional aspects.
• Lead the design of cost-effective and innovative solutions to meet both business objectives and the goal of operational efficiency
• Support rest of technology teams throughout the project life cycle in understanding the solution
• Be an active player in consultant community, maintaining consistency across the platform, and adopting best practices
