The Director of Contracts and Compliance conducts proposal and estimate preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer contract activities to provide for proper contract fulfillment in accordance with company policies, regulatory requirements and customer expectations.
Skills:
Develops, administers, and manages domestic and international contracts ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policies
Drafts and reviews all contracts. Ensures all contracts adhere to industry regulations, laws and organizational standards, mitigates risks and protects the company’s interests
Provides strategic guidance on international trade compliance, identifies and resolves all legal and regulatory issues related to international contracts and transactions
Manages approval process, provides guidance on complex legal and regulatory compliance matters
Interacts with customers, agents, forwarders, and other DWC departments and personnel to identify and resolve any problem(s) which could delay or prevent contract and/or purchase order completion
Conducts Commodity Jurisdiction (CJ) Analysis to determine the proper export classification of goods, technologies, and services, ensuring adherence to U.S. and international export controls
Collaborates with Sales Support resources, export consultants, legal, procurement, engineering, and technical teams to mitigate risk in agreements and ensure proper documentation and compliance with domestic, import/export control regulations and Technical Assistance Agreements (TAAs), ensuring alignment with export control laws, such as ITAR and EAR, along with other relevant regulations
Ensures continuous monitoring and adherence to changes in global trade laws, export controls, pricing, and compliance standards, updating company policies, practices, ISO, FCPA as necessary
Qualifications:
Minimum 5-8 years of applied work experience in the following
Domestic and International contract management
Working Experience with Defense Department Trade Control (DDTC) and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
Working knowledge of Letters of Credit, Performance Bonds and other associated financial transactions
Working knowledge of Foreign Corrupt Policy Act (FCPA) regulations
Effective working experience with order processing & sales administration resources
Must demonstrate effective communication skills, interpersonal, written, and verbal
Must be detail oriented and have proven organizational skills
Must be able to manage a variety of tasks simultaneously
