Position Title: Technical Manager
Salary Range: $96,000 - $137,000
The Technical Manager is responsible for overseeing the plant’s quality and environmental systems, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Management
Leadership and Oversight:
- Direct the Quality Management System to implement and maintain quality systems, procedures, and methods.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with quality policies, customer requirements, and regulatory standards.
Analysis and Improvement:
- Track, analyze, and lead initiatives to address internal quality issues and customer complaints.
- Identify, investigate, and report on critical quality defects in in-process and finished products.
- Evaluate the seriousness of defects, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work with department managers to maximize product quality and reliability while minimizing costs.
- Collaborate with customers, customer service, sales, and plant personnel to define product requirements and resolve complaints efficiently.
System Maintenance:
- Oversee facility test labs, equipment calibration/maintenance, document management, and employee training related to quality.
- Coordinate and execute investigations into product risks, failures, and corrective/preventative actions.
Environmental Management
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Act as the primary technical contact for local, state, and federal environmental agencies.
- Perform monitoring, recordkeeping, and reporting to ensure compliance with environmental regulations across air, wastewater, stormwater, solid and hazardous waste, SPCC, CERCLA/EPCRA, TSCA, and FDA programs.
Oversight and Implementation:
- Interface with regulatory personnel to stay updated on existing and proposed regulations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain environmental compliance monitoring and reporting systems.
- Maintain the facility’s Material Safety Data Sheet electronic system.
Audit and Reporting:
- Lead and manage internal and external regulatory compliance audits, ensuring all corrective actions are completed.
- Communicate compliance requirements and concerns to management and plant personnel, implementing corrective actions as needed.
