Our Fortune 500 retail client is seeking a Product Analyst to assist with the modernization from mainframe legacy systems to Oracle Retail and other new systems. This role focuses on technical analysis, gap identification, and collaborative solutions to ensure successful implementation and seamless integration of new technologies. The ideal candidate will help bridge the current and future state of systems, understanding dependencies, risks, and impacts across teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the modernization effort, including the migration from mainframe systems to Oracle Retail and other platforms.
- Conduct gap analysis to identify areas where current systems fall short in supporting future-state requirements.
- Analyze data flows, dependencies, and risks associated with system designs and integration.
- Collaborate with engineering, business, and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and successful implementation of Oracle solutions.
- Provide technical analysis to support agile product delivery and quarterly planning.
- Establish and maintain Kanban workflows to manage tasks and priorities effectively.
- Assess the impact of mainframe decommissioning on other groups and mitigate potential risks.
- Act as a communication bridge between current system capabilities and future-state objectives.
- Deliver insights into system dependencies and provide recommendations for smooth transitions.
- Facilitate heavy collaboration and coordination among teams to optimize delivery and minimize disruption.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in business analysis or technical product analysis, ideally with a focus on legacy system modernization.
- Experience in gap analysis, data flow mapping, and dependency management.
- Hands-on experience with agile methodologies, Kanban workflows, and quarterly planning processes.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical details to diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to collaborate across teams and assess the broader organizational impacts of technical changes.
- Experience working with tools such as Jira and Confluence to manage and track progress.
- Ability to manage and communicate risks associated with technical and process gaps.
- Strategic thinker with a focus on technical solutions that support business outcomes.
Additional Skills
- Knowledge of mainframe systems and their integration with modern platforms.
- Understanding of Oracle Retail system implementation and related tools.
