Java Architect

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• 7+ years of experience as a Java developer.
• 1+ years of architecture experience.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs using Java and best practices.
• Kafka experience.
• Strong understanding of event-driven architecture (EDA) principles and best practices.
• Cloud experience (highly prefer Google Cloud Platform - GCP).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, build, and implement a robust and scalable RESTful API ecosystem within a cloud-native and portable event-driven architecture currently focused on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Leverage event-driven architecture (EDA) principles and Confluent Kafka to ensure seamless communication and data exchange across our platform.
• You'll be hands-on as we design and implement RESTful APIs and Kafka consumers and producers using Java and following best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to apply new patterns and approaches as we build our platform.
• Lead the Centers of Excellence (COEs) development focused on RESTful APIs and event-driven architecture.
• Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.

This opportunity is a 6-month contract with the potential to extend or convert. You can live anywhere and work 100% remotely. We prefer candidates who live in the Dallas area and come to the office twice weekly. If you do not live in Dallas, you may need to travel to Dallas once a quarter for meetings.
