Title: Process Control Engineer
Location: Lemont, IL
Salary: 160,000-200,000 + Bonus + PTO & Benefits
Job Summary: A Process Control Engineer is responsible for developing solutions to complex problems, analyzing project scope, determining engineering requirements, and providing technical assistance to engineers, technicians, and supervisory personnel. This role involves directing team efforts for project development and design.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Process Control or Chemical Engineering with at least 3 years of related experience in the refining/chemical industry, or 8 years of control board/Operations supervision experience in lieu of a degree.
- Advanced computer skills, including modeling, multivariable control, and DeltaV configuration.
- Experience with DCS configuration, PLC configuration, multivariable control, and instrument tuning.
- Strong communication skills, self-directed, with a positive customer service focus.
- Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering expertise to ensure safe design in compliance with company policies, safety rules, and regulatory codes.
- Develop project scopes that contribute to long-term refinery improvements.
- Monitor and control project costs, ensuring timely completion and quality work within budget.
- Serve as a trainer and center of excellence to keep the company updated on technology changes.
- Mentor and train new engineers and team members.
- Complete special assignments and projects as needed.
- Lead design and implementation of Advanced Control/Optimization projects.
- Act as a technical advisor on complex process control systems.
- Implement and support basic Process Control Systems (DCS), Multivariable Control (MVC), Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
