About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join an awesome team in Richmond, VA with a leading client i the telecommunications industry. If you’re passionate about mentoring, managing projects, and delivering exceptional structural solutions, this could be the perfect fit for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mentor and develop strong project leads and future structural managers, promoting a positive company culture.
- Act as the Structural Engineering Subject Matter Expert on cross-functional projects.
- Provide guidance and training to junior engineers.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all engineering deliverables.
- Perform/implement QA/QC procedures on reports and drawings.
- Manage structural engineering tasks and projects as needed.
- Oversee the budget and profit & loss management for the regional team.
- Assist in strategically hiring and training staff to meet department goals.
Must-Have Skills:
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification required.
- 5+ years of structural engineering experience.
- Ability and willingness to travel for structural investigation visits.
- Site structural inspection work experience.
- Proficiency with structural engineering software such as RISA 3D, Enercalc, tnxTower, AutoCAD, and Mathcad.
- Extensive knowledge of Civil, Structural, and Geotechnical principles, as well as applicable design guides and standards.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Telecommunications industry experience is a huge plus
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with an emphasis on Steel, Concrete, and Structural Analysis is required.
