The Director of Financial Reporting will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the organization's financial reporting processes, with a strong focus on acquisitions, technical accounting, and compliance with US GAAP and SEC requirements. This leadership role is critical to ensuring accurate and timely reporting, aligning with corporate objectives, and providing strategic insights for decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Lead the preparation and review of consolidated financial statements, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and SEC regulations, including 10-K and 10-Q filings.
- Acquisitions Support: Oversee financial integration and reporting for acquisitions, including purchase accounting, valuations, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Technical Accounting: Provide expertise on complex accounting matters such as revenue recognition, lease accounting, and other technical areas. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure consistent application of accounting standards.
- Compliance and Auditing: Liaise with external auditors to facilitate audits, ensuring adherence to internal controls and regulatory requirements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal stakeholders across finance, legal, and operations to support reporting initiatives and provide guidance on accounting implications of business decisions.
- Team Leadership: Build and mentor a high-performing financial reporting team, fostering professional growth and alignment with organizational goals.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; advanced degree preferred.
- Certification: CPA required.
- Experience: Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in financial reporting, with a focus on technical accounting, SEC reporting, and acquisition integration. Prior public accounting experience is highly desirable.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance.
- Skills: Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in financial reporting tools and ERP systems.
