CONTRACT MANAGER



Role and Responsibilities


Assist the CEO and the Project Director with the management of contractual relations both with Client and with Contractors, including


  • Develop and maintain a Contract Management Risks and Opportunity process and documentation
  • Analyze and advise on commercial and financial impacts of correspondence received by Client and Contractors
  • Support the preparation of a strategy for commercial and legal negotiations with Client and Contractors.
  • Participate in meetings with Client and Contractors and prepare minutes over contractual matters
  • Prepare change orders and claims and assist with reviewing cost proposals to ensure conformance with contracts, develops negotiation strategies, and assists with negotiating change orders and claims.
  • Interact with and manage outside legal counsel if and when required
  • Develop and maintain a correspondence log
  • Develop and maintain a Change Order and Claims Log


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in law, Business Administration, Public Administration, Engineering, Finance, Government Contracting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of related experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a management or supervisory role.


Competencies:


  • Substantial experience working in and with public sector procurement management principles, government project administration, and government bid processes.
  • Proven experience working on matters involving public works projects and construction projects.
  • Substantial knowledge of contract terminology, terms and conditions, procurement, and construction management (including the ability to interpret contract documents and schedules).
  • Familiarity and experience with relevant local, state, and federal laws, including federal and state procurement laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex business documents.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and document management software.
