Branch Manager - Toronto

Toronto, Ontario

$120,000 - $155,000 CAD + bonus + benefits


JBAndrews is currently partnered with a growing global freight forwarder as they look to appoint a Branch Manager to oversee the efficient and profitable operation of all branch activities. The Branch Manager is responsible for overseeing the P&L, day-to-day activities, customer service, business development and overall profitability of the office. The position is essential in supporting staff members and communicating the company’s vision and targets.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support an infrastructure capable of providing ongoing customer service
  • Smoothly assimilate new hires into the organization and provide support for subsequent levels of management in the branch to do the same
  • Set performance goals and expectations
  • Conduct regular performance appraisals and ensure that subsequent levels of management in the branch are doing the same
  • Use flash reports and monthly reports to ensure profitability
  • Manage cash flow and DSO
  • Grow revenue
  • Increase net income
  • Control expenses and maximize transportation yield


People Management:

  • Lead and manage diverse team through influence and persuasion, often without direct oversight
  • Collaborate closely with regional and local staff to coordinate finance activities
  • Provide proper guidance and coaching to team
  • Deliver results by leveraging the skills of the right people at the right time
  • Lead resolution of difficult issues through effective negotiation tactics
  • Maintain high degree of motivation in team members to retain focus of providing highest levels of customer satisfaction


Requirements:

  • Experience in the Freight Forwarding / Logistics / Transportation industry required, including experience with international freight operations (Seafreight, Airfreight)
  • Experience managing a diverse team of direct reports, including managers of people
  • Ability to work successfully under pressure, including strong negotiation, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Subject matter expert in Freight Forwarding / Logistics procedures and practices
  • Sales experience within the industry
  • Degree/Diploma in International Business, Trade, Logistics, or a related field preferred;
