They will work closely with technical specialist individuals with diverse backgrounds and responsibilities such as SCADA, network and server infrastructure, security, real-time data solutions, automation, maintenance, construction, and engineering.

Reporting to the Manager of Operational Technology, the Project Manager will be responsible for:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Perform full-time project management activities for SCADA-related programs and projects, proactively managing scope, cost, schedule, and risk to deliver maximum value to stakeholders.
  • Execution: Execute projects in alignment with established standards.
  • Technical Expertise: In addition to demonstrated project management expertise, this candidate will have a strong understanding of Operational Technology and SCADA processes, best practices, standards, and control/operating procedures.
  • Balancing Priorities: Manage multiple simultaneous projects, balancing priorities, constraints, and objectives effectively.
  • Documentation & Analysis: Provide well-defined project mandates, supplemented with detailed documentation, scheduling, budgeting, and ongoing project analysis.
  • Change Management: Develop and implement change management processes, procedures, and tools to ensure seamless deployment without disrupting critical systems.
  • Business Case Development: Create business cases and cost-analysis for new projects and operational initiatives.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate internal processes, identifying and proposing improvements to enhance project efficiency and priority-based execution.
  • Reporting: Prepare status reports and deliver presentations to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Issue Resolution: Facilitate the successful resolution of project concerns or issues, escalating as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Project Management Professional or equivalent designation required. Completion of an undergraduate degree in Engineering or Computer Science from a recognized post-secondary institution is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience, such as with a Registered Engineering Technologist or similar accreditation, may be accepted.
  • Experience: 5-10 years of progressive project management experience, depending on technical education, accreditations, and competency development. Direct technical or project experience with SCADA systems, Operational Technology, Information Technology, and/or Cybersecurity is preferred.
  • Technical Competence: Demonstrated technical competence in at least one engineering discipline, with the ability to overview or practice in other disciplines.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal communication and written communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, planning, and leadership skills.
