SEMMA , an acclaimed South Indian Michelin star restaurant in New York City, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Expeditor to join our dynamic team. As an Expeditor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring seamless communication between the kitchen and front-of-house teams while maintaining the exceptional guest experience SEMMA is known for.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage the flow of dishes between the kitchen and dining room.
- Inspect plates for presentation, accuracy, and quality before they are served.
- Communicate effectively with chefs, servers, and management to ensure orders are delivered correctly and on time.
- Maintain a clean and organized expo station.
- Assist with special requests or modifications to orders as needed.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as an Expeditor or in a similar role in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
- Ability to work calmly under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Passion for hospitality and commitment to providing a world-class dining experience.
- Knowledge or interest in South Indian cuisine is a plus!
