Position Overview:
This role will focus on venture debt investments, working with transformative companies in the technology and life sciences sectors. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in credit analysis, transaction structuring, and portfolio management, and a proven ability to thrive in a high-performance team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Underwriting: Conduct detailed underwriting of venture debt opportunities, analyzing risk and return profiles.
- Investment Analysis: Perform comprehensive due diligence and financial modeling for potential investments in the technology and life sciences sectors.
- Deal Structuring: Assist in structuring and negotiating venture debt transactions to optimize outcomes.
- Portfolio Management: Monitor the performance of existing investments, providing strategic insights and managing risks.
- Market Research: Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive dynamics to identify new opportunities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive successful investment outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CFA) are a plus.
- Experience: 2-5 years of experience in investment banking or buy-side private credit roles, with a preference for venture debt experience.
- Skills: Strong financial modeling, credit analysis, and transaction execution skills. Exceptional communication and teamwork abilities.
- Location: Based in or willing to relocate to San Francisco.
