Investment Associate, Private Credit

Seeking a highly motivated investment associate to support growth of the firm’s private credit investment strategies. The ideal candidate will have strong credit training, extensive underwriting experience, a deep track record in underwriting and executing credit transactions across public and/or private markets.

Responsibilities

• Associates are involved in all aspects of transaction evaluation including business, industry and financial due diligence, financial modeling and valuation analysis and preparation of investment committee memoranda and presentations as well as travel on deal diligence from time to time.
• Underwrite sponsor backed investment opportunities, including senior / unitranche / ABL FILO loans for primarily LBO, add-on M&A, and refinancing transactions across sector.
• Play an integral role on deal teams by running point on deal execution, leading due diligence efforts on key credit considerations, underwriting the creditworthiness of borrowers
• The Associate will be primarily responsible for screening, analyzing and executing debt investments in private equity transactions, as well as monitoring portfolio companies
• Perform ongoing due diligence and monitoring of portfolio companies; communicate updates to the investment committee (orally and written)
• Analyze potential investment opportunities and engage in all aspects of due diligence / business analysis to develop and refine investment theses
• Complete due diligence including review of investment target information and data room, industry research, financial modeling, financial statement review, interaction with management, use of consultants, review of third-party reports, etc.
• Prepare analysis and memorandums used for internal discussions and formal investment committee approval processes
• Participate in deal team discussions and presentations with investment committee
• Liaise directly with private equity funds, management teams, and third-party due diligence providers during deal origination and underwriting process
• Participate in the transaction closing, which includes legal documentation and funding operations
