Partners Personnel is Mid-Level Buyer , for our client in the Lebanon, TN area. This is a contract to hire position. Hybrid. $ 45,000 to 50,000/DOE. Monday to Friday.
Position Summary:
The Mid-Level Buyer is responsible for coordinating and identifying suppliers, negotiating pricing and quantity terms, and establishing long-term contracts to ensure a continuous and high-quality supply of products for Distribution. This position ensures competitive pricing, maintains in-stock product levels, and assists with special order requests. As a team member within the department, the Mid-Level Buyer will perform duties to best serve the company's needs.
Job Responsibilities:
- Identify suppliers who can provide continuous product supply, ensuring product quality, value, and innovation.
- Maintain positive relationships with vendors by resolving issues related to invoicing, product quality, and delivery.
- Choose products based on market application, product performance, and vendor reputation.
- Negotiate prices and order quantities based on customer demand, market conditions, and warehousing efficiency.
- Establish long-term contracts to secure a continuous supply of product.
- Respond to emergency situations by obtaining product and expediting delivery.
- Provide pricing and product information to the sales team, offering recommendations on pricing structures and margins.
Job Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing or a related field required.
Previous experience working in supply chain preferred
High School Diploma/GED required;
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
MS Word, Excel, Outlook, ERP or related system
2-4 years of experience within the foodservice industry is preferred.
