Temporary Human Resources Specialist
$28-$30/hr. | 3-6 Months | ASAP Start
Location: Princeton, NJ
Client: Luxury Independent Living Retirement Community
Are you a detail-oriented HR professional with a passion for supporting employee growth and organizational success? Our client, a premier Luxury Independent Living Retirement Community located in Princeton, NJ, is urgently seeking a Temporary Human Resources Specialist to join their team. This is a 3-6 month assignment with the possibility of extension, offering a competitive pay rate of $28-$30 per hour . This is a fully onsite role. Only candidates available for immediate placement will be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources Support
- Handle employee relations issues (performance counseling, terminations, recognition programs)
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Assist recruitment efforts and employee retention initiatives
- Coordinate training and development programs for managers and staff
- Onboard new employees and provide ongoing HR guidance
- Maintain the Employee Handbook and ensure company policies are followed
- Oversee workers' compensation claims and ensure safety and risk management standards
- Maintain compliance with employment laws (FMLA, NJLAD, ADA, etc.)
- Process discipline issues in line with company policies and legal requirements
Payroll & Benefits Administration
- Paychex payroll processing, and reporting.
- Facilitate payroll changes and maintain accurate time and attendance records
- Administer employee benefit programs (medical, dental, 401k, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with benefit-related regulations and assist employees with any benefit-related issues
- Process COBRA notifications and enrollments
- Review and manage accruals and time-off policies on a bi-weekly basis
Additional Duties
- Provide management reports as needed, ensuring accuracy in payroll and benefits administration
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HR trends, best practices, and regulatory changes
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail
- Thorough knowledge of employment laws and HR practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; ability to quickly learn HRIS systems (Paychex experience preferred)
- Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team
Education & Experience Strongly Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- At least 5 years of HR management experience preferred
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification strongly desired
