Our client, a boutique law firm, specializes in full-service operations for private lenders, institutional lenders, chartered banks, and credit unions across Canada. We are currently hiring a skilled Real Estate Paralegal to oversee a variety of residential and commercial real estate transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee both residential and commercial real estate files.
- Draft loan agreements, promissory notes, and security agreements.
- Conduct due diligence on borrowers, including reviewing financial documents.
- Prepare and manage the closing process for loan transactions.
- Ensure loan documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with legal requirements.
- Conduct title searches and secure collateral (e.g., real estate).
- File and record legal documents with government agencies.
- Communicate with clients and provide regular updates on the loan process.
- Assist with risk management, including reviewing terms related to default or foreclosure.
- Prepare statements of adjustments and manage trust accounts.
Qualifications:
- Paralegal certification or diploma.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in real estate law, preferably with exposure to private or institutional lending.
- Strong knowledge of land title registration and related procedures in Canada.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with clients and stakeholders.
