Competitive salary range: $55,000-$65,000
About you
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- 3+ years of experience assisting cases in litigation law
- A legal assistant diploma, paralegal certificate or law clerk certificate
- Skilled in Microsoft Office, legal software, research, and documentation drafting
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication abilities
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Availability to work on-site in downtown Ottawa
About the role
If hired, you will:
- Prepare legal documents and draft correspondence
- Conduct research on laws, regulations, and legal articles
- Manage and organize case files, both electronic and physical filling systems
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties
- Schedule appointments, hearings, and meetings
- Coordinate documentation for court appearances and legal proceedings
- Provide administrative support: manage calendars, billing, and expenses
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
