Job Title: Laboratory Assistant

Location: Cambridge, MA 02138

Pay Rate: Up to $25/Hr.

Contract: 13 weeks

Shift: Evening – 3:00pm start

Responsibilities:

Assists with the required processing of laboratory specimens, including but not limited to verification of specimen identification, requisition entry when necessary, centrifugation, and pouring of aliquots.

Performs a variety of clerical and technical procedures to prepare specimens for processing, result review, and verification. Answers phones and assists with providing test result information to physicians.

Checks inventory of supplies and notifies supervisor when ordering may be necessary.

Maintains work areas in a neat, clean, and orderly manner.

Operates computer for required applications.

Complies with requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies; adheres to established hospital and departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.

Performs other similar or related duties as required or as directed in all sections, areas, and shifts. Works closely with technical and clerical staff to maintain communication related to patient tests and processing.

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent, with reading skills verified at ninth grade level or better.

Six months of laboratory experience.

Must have good organizational skills.

Able to work independently on assigned tasks.

COVID vaccines + booster and 2024-2025 flu vaccine required at time of submission (declinations not accepted).
