Job Title: Director of Infection Prevention

Location: Austin, TX

Employment Type: Full-time, Days (No Weekends)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Director of Infection Prevention to lead our hospital's infection control program. This role is key to developing, implementing, and overseeing infection prevention strategies across the hospital, ensuring compliance with regulations and promoting a safe environment for patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement infection prevention policies, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Oversee surveillance and analysis of hospital-acquired infections (HAIs) to identify improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address infection control issues and prevent outbreaks.
• Ensure compliance with infection control regulations (OSHA, Joint Commission) and prepare reports for internal and external authorities.
• Support emergency management activities and assist with infection prevention during drills and planning.
• Manage infection prevention data in compliance with HIPAA.
• Lead and mentor a team of infection prevention coordinators.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in microbiology, Epidemiology, or a related field (master's preferred).

Experience:

5+ years in infection prevention, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

Certification:

• Certification in Infection Control (CIC) required.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
