Position Overview
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this key leadership position will spearhead all HR initiatives across the California market, with a focus on building and maintaining best-in-class HR operations for a dynamic workforce in the transportation sector.
Core Responsibilities
- Provide strategic HR leadership and serve as a trusted advisor to management on employee relations, performance management, and organizational development
- Lead comprehensive HR operations including recruitment strategy, compliance management, and policy development
- Drive the implementation and optimization of HRIS systems and learning management processes
- Oversee California-specific compliance initiatives, including wage and hour regulations
- Manage union benefit administration and related processes where applicable
- Direct HR team operations while fostering a high-performance culture
- Develop and track key HR metrics, providing strategic insights to senior leadership
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
- California SHRM certification
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience in California
- Deep understanding of California employment law and compliance requirements
- Previous experience in high-growth environments
- Transportation sector experience advantageous but not essential
- Strong analytical capabilities with exceptional attention to detail
- Outstanding stakeholder management and communication skills
