Responsibilities
- Technical Expertise: Take charge of technical aspects of bridge and structural design projects, focusing on innovative solutions for complex engineering challenges and cross-disciplinary efforts.
- Project Coordination: Lead all phases of bridge design projects, from initial planning to completion, ensuring technical accuracy and seamless team collaboration throughout.
- Client Partnerships: Establish and maintain strong client partnerships by actively participating in discussions regarding project scope, contracts, and progress.
- Integrated Design Management: Guide the design process, collaborating with project teams and other disciplines to ensure designs align with overall project goals and timelines.
- Compliance and Deliverables: Guarantee project outputs meet both internal standards and external client requirements, adhering to all relevant codes and regulations.
- Team Workload Management: Monitor and allocate team resources effectively to maintain progress and deliver projects on schedule.
- Cross-Team Integration: Partner with management to evaluate project milestones and ensure that technical and business objectives are consistently met.
- Quality Standards: Implement robust quality assurance protocols to verify that all design deliverables meet high standards of excellence.
- Mentorship and Leadership: Actively mentor less experienced engineers and project managers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
- Licensure and Standards: Maintain professional licensure and ensure adherence to current industry practices and standards in all project work.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in managing bridge design projects with a strong portfolio of work
- A degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution (ABET accreditation preferred); an advanced degree in Structural Engineering is an asset.
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) or eligible to obtain licensure within six months of employment.
- Proven experience in client development and strategic planning, with a demonstrated ability to secure and manage project opportunities.
- Outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills, with experience mentoring and developing team members.
- Proficiency with structural analysis and design software, such as LEAP Bridge Enterprise, LARSA 4D, LPile, MDX, or AASHTOWare BrR. Familiarity with tools like Bentley MicroStation, OpenRoads/Bridge, or other state-specific software is a bonus.
- Deep understanding of industry standards, project delivery processes, and compliance requirements.
- Skilled in managing project teams and resources while ensuring quality results in fast-paced environments.
