Job Description

The Panther Group is seeking a Direct Hire, Hybrid (3 days in office) Senior Data Architect located in Chicago, IL with one of our partners, a law firm. Salary is $135,000 - $145,000. No Visas or sponsorship now or in the future permitted. We do not work with C2C/C2H or third party recruiters.


Immediate Need and Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience, looking for someone who has performed the tasks before, and can immediately jump in

• Experience as a DBA (database admin), created architecture, put together data integration between systems

• The Senior Data Architect is responsible for data modeling, validation, integrity, and security. The position requires significant skills in database design and optimization and the ability to interpret business rules into technical outcomes. This position will report to the CIO and will be tasked with creating an enterprise-wide data architecture with automated integrations among systems. This role will be responsible for executing the vision of a centralized data structure that promotes high quality and allows for reliable communication among systems used by legal and support staff alike.


Job duties will include but not be limited to:


• Collaborate with IT leadership to implement data integration strategies to connect disparate data sources and take advantage of existing technologies, as well as bring forth new technologies that address business needs effectively.

• Architect optimal and scalable data engineering solutions to extract, organize, and present solutions for stakeholder needs.

• Create efficient Extract Transform and Load (ETL) processes to facilitate smooth data flow across firm systems.

• Partner with Business Intelligence to ensure the data architecture supports reporting requirements and data analytics.

• Review business processes with the Business Intelligence lead, recommend and implement supportable data changes, including any relevant tools to better secure those processes.

• Advise and execute database designs and work together with the DBA lead to improve the structure, quality, and ownership of data from the agreed systems of record.

• Work with Project Management team and Business Analysts to gather business and technical requirements on assigned projects.

• Implement effective data models and develop best practices with the head of Information Governance for data integration and data security.

• Manage the migration of data from legacy systems to new solutions.

• Collaborate with subject matter experts from various firm departments and stakeholders to achieve firm strategic goals.

• Create and maintain clear documentation of data models, database structures, and data management processes, as well as provide training to team members on data systems and best practices.


Qualifications & Required Experience:


• Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in a computer-related field.

• 5+ years Data Architecture experience preferred

• 5+ years of experience in DBA roles preferred

• Proven experience leading data integrations.


Computer Skills:

• SQL standards and best practices, including optimization.

• Master Data Management concepts and design.

• Working knowledge of reporting tools such as PowerBI, Qlik, Tableau
