Job Summary:

The Scoping Engineer is responsible for identifying technical aspects of telecommunications equipment and services for deployment at assigned sites. This includes reviewing construction drawings, installation documents, and customer requirements. The engineer develops the Scope of Work (SOW) and Bill of Material (BOM) to guide site build plans and material procurement. Activities include site walks, documentation reviews, and aerial imagery analysis.

What we are looking in a Scoping Engineer:

• Develop and document per-site SOW and BOM, identifying all work types and project drivers.
• Review site technical solutions, construction standards, and customer contracts.
• Analyze construction drawings, RFDS, and structural designs for constructability.
• Conduct site walks, drone surveys, and desktop reviews to determine project needs.
• Propose and document site constructability changes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align schedules and build plans.
• Approve or reject supplier quotes for accuracy.
• Identify rigging and crane requirements.
• Participate in planning meetings and provide technical expertise.
• Prepare reports, analyses, and presentations on project progress and issues.

What we are looking in a Scoping Engineer:

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience (2-5 years in telecommunications or construction).
• Experience in cell site construction, upgrades, and design solutions.
• Knowledge of RFDS, construction documents, and feasibility analysis.
• Familiarity with general construction processes, structural design, and material requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), Adobe Pro, and databases.
• OSHA 10/30 certification preferred (telecom industry focus).
• Experience in large-scale telecom projects and site management.
• Advanced Excel or programming skills.
• Tower and civil construction management experience.
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to work independently and analyze issues proactively.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
