Senior Design Engineer– $105,000-$125,000 + Benefits – West Columbia, SC


The Role

As a Senior Design Engineer, you will oversee and approve project deliverables while working individually or as part of a team.


This role involves scheduling and delegating tasks to engineers and subcontractors to ensure project completion. You will collaborate across mechanical, structural, civil, and electrical disciplines to identify client needs, offering practical solutions based on field observations and communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drawing generation, review and approval for IFC deliverables.
  • Provide design oversight and approval of project deliverables.
  • Manage project schedules and delegate tasks effectively.
  • Work on structural design applications, ensuring feasibility for construction and fabrication.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand requirements and develop tailored solutions.


The Company

Solution Services was formed in 1998 with a focus on mechanical maintenance on rotating equipment, especially in paper mills. Over the years, the company developed into a multi-disciplined full-service provider of construction services (mechanical, electrical, engineering) to the industrial market for the entire state of South Carolina and occasionally into North Carolina and Georgia.


Our focus areas are: (1) Maintenance and operation platform and crane design, (2) Utility piping and foundation engineering for new equipment installations, (3) ASME vessel design, (4) Metrology 3D Scanning, (5) FEL scoping of projects.

The Person

  • Design experience required in structural applications.
  • PE Required
  • Proficient with CAD and FEA (Preferably Solidworks OR Autocad)
  • Experience in construction feasibility and fabrication methods is a plus
  • Candidate must have good computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.
