Job Description:
- Provide both direct and indirect skilled nursing care to assigned residents.
- Follow defined policies and procedures under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Maintain a collaborative relationship with other nursing staff, physicians, and ancillary staff.
- Continue education through in-service programs to maintain an appropriate level of knowledge and clinical expertise.
- Collect data relevant to residents' physical and psychosocial conditions on an ongoing basis and communicate findings to the RN and other members of the Interdisciplinary Team.
- Contribute to creating a developmentally age-appropriate and culturally relevant plan of resident care, involving the resident/family and healthcare team while ensuring a healthy, safe environment.
- Recommend revisions to the plan of care after evaluating resident outcomes, indicating the need for referrals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Collaborate with the resident/family and members of the Interdisciplinary Team within the scope of nursing practice to assure customer satisfaction.
- Maintain current knowledge and competency in nursing practice and participate in mentoring/orientation of staff.
- Consider factors related to safety, cost, and impact in care planning and delivery, providing leadership in the professional practice setting under the direction of an RN.
- Demonstrate knowledge and competency regarding potential occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
