The Department of Radiation Medicine is a vital part of UK Markey Cancer Center, an NCI -designated Cancer Center. The department has vibrant clinical practice with outstanding technology, facilities, and medical physics support as well as active transitional and clinical research programs, within the context of a vibrant and robust healthcare enterprise. Fully accredited and well regarded residency programs in radiation oncology and medical physics, as well as Masters and PhD programs in Medical Physics are integral to the department’s mission and culture.nCurrently the department provides the entire range of radiation oncology services, including IMRT, Gamma Knife and body radiosurgery, high and low dose-rate brachytherapy, TBI and total skin electron irradiation, etc. The Department has completed an aggressive building program to augment its state-of-the-art facilities and technology to include a dedicated brachytherapy suite with CT-on-rails, and Halcyon, the latest Varian technology. The Department also provides radiation oncology services at satellite locations.nThe faculty member will serve under the direction of the Chair, Department of Radiation Medicine and will also participate in multidisciplinary clinics involving the department.nSpecific responsibilities include:n1. Serve as a full-time member of the Department of Radiation Medicine focusing on gynecologic cancers and brachytherapy.n2. The faculty member will have primary responsibility in patient care services.n3. The faculty member will demonstrate potential for excellence as a teacher and clinician with evidences of high professional status and potential for local/state recognition.n4.
