The Technical Services team at Rates is not only expected to design, implement, and maintain the infrastructure, we are also agents of change. We are always working with new technologies and solving complex problems with creative ideas. The team is fully engaged in servers, networking, and security, from start to finish.

To grow and evolve this team and our infrastructure, we are looking for an experienced, collaborative, and creative Site Reliability Engineer with a passion for everything to do with technology and are looking to enter into DevOps and SRE roles. In this role, you will work closely with other members of the team as well as developers to solve challenging problems using automation as well as traditional techniques. Over the past year, we have migrated the majority of our services and systems from on-prem infrastructure into cloud.

Our recruitment process is 3 steps. It will consist of an initial 15-minute call with Human Resources, an in-person technical interview with the Hiring Manager, and lastly, a video interview with the Head of the department.

Responsibilities

. Design, deliver, and maintain container based technologies (EKS and ECS) from scratch to finish

· Identify and lead initiatives to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of our services

· Engage in service capacity planning, demand forecasting, software performance analysis, and system tuning

· Manage our AWS infrastructure using infrastructure as code tools like Terraform

· Maintain and improve upon build automation systems that support multiple engineering teams

· Implement and manage EKS and ECS clusters for container orchestration

· Work closely with development teams to architect and deploy services in cloud

· Conduct periodic on-call duties as needed

Qualifications

. 3+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or similar roles

. Strong understanding and knowledge of Kubernetes, helm, and CI/CD

. Strong understanding and knowledge of Terraform and IaC

. Strong understanding and knowledge of AWS and other major cloud providers

. Solid understanding of infrastructure solutions such as WAF, DNS, and PKI

· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Technologies

· MUST have: AWS (3+ years), Kubernetes (3+ years), Terraform (3+ years), CI/CD, Datadog, Cloudflare, Docker, Apache, Nginx, ansible

· Nice to have: ArgoCD, GitLab, ingress-nginx, cilium, Druva
