Quality Engineer:
We are partnering with a leading manufacturer of custom-mixed rubber compounds and molded rubber components serving the automotive industry to find a skilled Quality Engineer for their facility in Twinsburg Ohio. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to drive quality improvements, champion customer corrective actions, and actively participate in process optimization on the shop floor. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of Quality Engineering experience, strong problem-solving skills, and familiarity with ISO standards and automotive industry requirements. Preferred candidates will bring expertise in APQP, SPC, and rubber mixing or molding processes. Join a team dedicated to fostering a zero-defect culture and delivering superior quality products.
Responsibilities:
- Champion customer corrective actions
- Interacting with all persons related to corrective actions from the shop floor associates to the customer
- Participate in scrap reduction activities
- Including significant time reviewing mixing and molding processes on the shop floor
- Measure and improve process capability
- Coordinate supplier qualification process
- Continually improve SOPs
- Participate in APQP activities
- Participate in training activities
- Supervise Quality Audit Team
- Promote zero defect culture
Requirements:
- 3-5 yrs of experience in Quality Engineering
- Experience with ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 /AS 9100 / VDA 6.3
- Experience in the automotive industry preferably on Tier 1 – Tier 2 environment.
- Lead Problem Solving, FMEA, MRB Managing
- Self-motivated
- Multiple problem solving methods
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written
- MS Office
Preferred:
- Experience with APQP and new product launches
- Experience with rubber mixing and rubber molding
- Software for Statistical Studites (e.g. Minitab)
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering degree preferred
- Working knowledge of SPC, Process Capability, Metrology, Gage Control, GD&T, DOE, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, Internal Auditing, PPAP, Process Flow, FMEA, Control Plan, 3x5 Why, Ishikawa diagrams, is – is not.
