Position Overview The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and energetic individual to serve as Secretary. Under direction, this position will perform technical, administrative secretarial, and office support functions for the Associate Deputy Director of Permanency Practice. The position will conduct special projects and studies and provide general office support for staff. Prepares and keyboards a variety of confidential correspondence to agency staff, clients, professionals, and community agencies outside the Department for purposes of information and clarification of DCFS rules and procedures.. Provides assistance to the DCFS Domestic Private/Internet Adoption Administrator, the Statewide Residential Interstate Compact Manager, and other Interstate Compact staff in initiating and responding to case related communications via phone, mail, e-mail, and in person. Receives and assists visitors and telephone callers and, exercising judgment, refers them to appropriate persons as circumstances warrant. Serves as unit timekeeper. Processes travel vouchers on a monthly basis. Attends meetings and training events in person, by phone. or via webinar, as assigned. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerat ed above.
