Overview
The stroke program coordinator closely working with the Medical Director to achieve a first-rate comprehensive stroke program recognized as a center of excellence delivering the highest quality of patient care and outcomes. The stroke program coordinator serves as the primary focal point aligning the clinical, educational/outreach and QA/QI initiatives with the strategic missions/goals and objectives of the stroke program. Stroke program coordinator is responsible to coordinate all stoke centers of excellence within UF Health Jacksonville network of facilities.
Qualifications
Age of Patients Served:
All Age Groups.
Required Education:
Associate's Degree. Specific course work: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
New hires effective June 14, 2017, must have a BSN degree from an accredited school of nursing within three (3) years of hire or transfer into the position. New hires or transfers into in the position between August 1, 2013 and June 13, 2017 must abide with the conditions in his or her offer letter and the verbiage in the job description signed upon hire or transfer into the position. Current employees who were hired or transferred into the position prior to August 1, 2013 will be grandfathered.
Preferred Education:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing
Necessary Skills:
1. Strong clinical assessment skills.
2. Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills; can discuss stroke related topics/issues to the lay person as well to physician.
3. Take the initiative to reach out and assist the visitor, patient, etc. with genuine interest in their needs.
4. Present a positive attitude in performing assignments and providing assistance.
5. Maintain a professional appearance in personal hygiene and uniform.
6. Computer proficient.
Required Licensure/Certifications:
-Licensed to practice nursing in the state of Florida
-Valid Florida or Georgia Drivers license with clean record, or violations not exceeding maximum points as provided in hospital policy.
-Effective January 1, 2015, all new hires or transfers must have a professional certification within two years of hire or transfer. For certifications that require a specified number of cases or hours worked within the specialty, the certification must be applied for once the case/time requirement has been met, and the certification must be obtained within one year of the requirement having been met (e.g. oncology, chemotherapy, diabetes education).
