Job Description:

Position: Lead Line Cook - Plenty Goods' Salad Bar Location: 1000 N Damen Ave
Employment Type: Full-time, Salary, $45-46k per year. 

Responsibilities:

  1. Food Preparation: Execute the preparation of ingredients, ensuring freshness, quality, and adherence to food safety standards.
  2. Cooking and Assembly: Oversee the assembly of salads, dressing preparation, and final presentation, maintaining consistency and aesthetic appeal.
  3. Team Leadership: Provide guidance and support to kitchen staff, delegating tasks, and fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
  4. Quality Control: Monitor food quality throughout the production process, addressing any discrepancies promptly to uphold standards of excellence.
  5. Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels, conduct regular stock checks, and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely replenishment of ingredients.
  6. Sanitation and Hygiene: Uphold cleanliness and sanitation protocols in accordance with health regulations, promoting a safe and hygienic work environment.
  7. Customer Interaction: Engage with customers, offering recommendations, accommodating special requests, and ensuring a positive dining experience.
  8. Training and Development: Train new kitchen staff on salad bar procedures, techniques, and standards, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  9. Performance Evaluation: Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback and recognizing outstanding contributions.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a line cook or sous chef, with a focus on salad preparation and healthy cuisine.
  • Extensive knowledge of ingredients, flavor profiles, and culinary techniques relevant to salad bar operations.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor kitchen staff to achieve culinary excellence.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities, capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to upholding food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
