LHH Recruitment Solutions has an opening an Electrical Engineer for our client in the Derby-Shelton, CT area. This direct hire role allows you to expand your engineering career within a stable collaborative and thriving organization. This on-site position requires a minimum of three years’ current experience and a proven high proficiency in working with SolidWorks Electrical and AutoCAD. As well as PCB layout with Altium software, embedded software for PLCs and embedded controllers experience. Successful candidates will have several years utilizing AutoCAD and Altium. Candidates with experience in utilizing/working HMIs such as touch screen displays and PLC programming highly preferred as well as working with automated machinery.

Salary range: $130,000.00 - $140,000

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for concept, design and layout using SolidWorks Electrical and AutoCAD.
• Works as a collaborative team member applying electrical engineering principles to develop design solutions for machine control.
• Reviews, test and confirms electrical systems and component’s capabilities.
• Prepares engineering reports, calculations and checks drawings for completeness and accuracy.
• Collaborate with vendors as well as suppliers to identify electrical components/subassemblies that comply with machine requirements and specifications.
• Installation and troubleshooting equipment as needed internally and at customer sites.
• Aid in the development of operation manuals and other pertinent documentation as needed.
• Conceptualize and support prototype builds.
• Collaborates in design, development, testing and reports for new product development (NPD) projects.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Required - bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology in a manufacturing environment.
• 3-5 years of related electrical engineering experience.
• PLC programming experience highly preferred.
• A current and working knowledge of electrical systems, electrical troubleshooting, and electrical design.
• PCB layout experience utilizing Altium software highly preferred.
• Highly preferred - understanding of embedded controllers, embedded software and PLCs for automated machines.
• Experience with application of various sensor technologies.
• Familiarity with user interface technology, HMIs - touch-screen displays.
• Self-motivated and innovative, yet an exceptional product development team player.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Required - CAD experience.
• Willingness and readiness to travel up to 10% of the time.
