Director of Psychiatry

Position Summary: The Director of Psychiatry provides clinical leadership and consultation, supporting organizational efforts to design and implement care programs at various sites. The incumbent will represent the organization in providing consultation services to external clients, while ensuring the development of innovative and integrated care systems.
Essential Functions:
- Lead clinical care program management for Behavioral Health Psychiatrists.
- Provide integrated care clinical services, both directly and indirectly.
- Supervise BH physicians, ensuring high-quality patient care.
- Facilitate patient assessment and intervention meetings.
- Collaborate with medical providers to develop assessment and treatment protocols, and design training programs for physicians.
- Review peer review results, implementing treatment guidelines, medication management protocols, and integrated care strategies with therapists.
- Supervise Clinical Therapists, including doctoral-level psychologists and masters-level social workers.
- Design and implement formal training programs on integrated care for primary care and behavioral health providers.
- Consult and assist in the development of integrated care delivery systems in collaboration with management teams.
- Assist in developing and coordinating an APA-approved Pre-doctoral Psychology Internship program.
- Collaborate in creating clinical curriculum, administrative tools, and partnerships with educational institutions for internship programs.
- Oversee the internship candidate selection process.
- Support the maintenance of APA/APPIC-accredited internship program approval.
- Assist in coordinating integrated care initiatives.
- Oversee the department's quality management program.

Job Requirements:
Education Required:
MD, board certified in Psychiatry.
Computer Skills:
Proficient in Word Processing software.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Provide clinical supervision to BH physicians.
Certifications/Licenses Required:
Licensed in the state of California (as MD).
Experience Required:
Minimum of four years of related experience and/or training.
Verbal and Written Skills:
Fluency in Spanish preferred.
Technical Knowledge and Skills Required:
Proficient in Word Processing software.
