Pride Health is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist to support our client’s medical facility based in Shelton, CT. This is a full-time contract of 6 months with possibilities of extension or conversion to permanent opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Position: Medical Laboratory Scientist

Shift: Tuesday thru Saturday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm

Duration: 6+ months Contract with possibilities of extension/ Conversion to full time

Location: Shelton, CT

Pay Range: $30 - $39/ hour W2 without the benefits

Note:

• Primary esponsibilities for this position include pipetting clinical specimens, manual specimen processing (smear / stain, lyse, label) bench work, and running specimens on BD FACSCanto II flow cytometer.
• BS in Medical Technology preferred; or BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology, or Associates degree in a Laboratory Science or Medical Technology, or Previously qualified as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493. 1433 published in March 14, 1990.
• MUST HAVE FLOW CYTOMETRY EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDERED

Key Responsibilities:

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing based on established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments to ensure proper functionality and accurate results.
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing procedures and problem-solving.
• Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls to ensure consistency and accuracy in test results.
• Report accurate and timely test results to facilitate quality patient care.
• Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety protocols and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
