Job Description
Our client, a leading midstream company, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Project Engineer to support their Facilities Execution team. This role is based in Calgary, AB, and is a contract position for an initial term of 12 months, with the potential for extension based on project needs.As a Project Engineer, you will work on the execution of facilities projects within the midstream sector, contributing to the successful delivery of projects on time, within scope, and on budget.Key Responsibilities:Project Execution Support: Manage and support the execution of facilities projects, including the planning, design, and construction of pipeline terminals, compressor stations, processing plants, and other midstream facilities.Coordination & Communication: Act as a liaison between project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams, ensuring alignment on project scope, timelines, and deliverables.Engineering Design Review: Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations while reviewing engineering designs for accuracy, constructability, and cost-effectiveness.Schedule & Budget Management: Monitor project progress, tracking milestones, costs, and potential risks to ensure adherence to the project schedule and budget. Proactively identify issues and implement corrective actions.Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with project execution, including safety, environmental, and operational risks.Compliance & Safety: Ensure that projects adhere to company safety standards and regulatory requirements, including environmental considerations.Quality Assurance: Maintain quality control throughout the project lifecycle, including inspection and review of contractor work.Documentation & Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports on project progress, status, and performance to senior management and other stakeholders.Qualifications:Education:Must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related field)Must be an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in good standing with APEGA or the relevant provincial regulatory body.Experience:Minimum 3-5 years of experience in facilities project execution within the midstream or oil and gas sector.Proven track record of working on facilities projects, including pipelines, compressor stations, and processing plants.Experience in managing project timelines, budgets, and resources.Strong knowledge of industry codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ASME, API, CSA).Familiarity with project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar).Skills and Competencies:Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, and senior management.Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.Strong organizational and time-management skills.
