LuxeTech is partnering with a leading supplier of power electronics to offer an exciting opportunity for an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer. This role is ideal for someone looking to contribute to innovative projects, grow relationships with existing customers, and help explore into new industries.
As part of this dynamic team, you will play a key role in the design and development of power supplies, supporting your team while also gaining the experience needed to advance your career.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Principal or Senior Engineers/Designers to lead or support power supply development projects, ranging from small to medium complexity, from initial concept through to manufacturing introduction.
- Take ownership of sub-projects, contributing to the success of larger initiatives.
- Develop your skills and experience to progress toward senior or principal designer roles or engineering management positions.
Must-Have Skills:
- 5 years of experience (Academic lab experience and industrial exp can be combined) in designing various HW power topologies - PFC (conventional bridge or bridgeless), LLC, Buck, Boost, Flyback etc.
- Experience designing HW circuits – Op-Ams (buffer, adder, diff amps etc.), Comparators, various ICs.
- Experience designing inductors and transformers for high switching speed topologies.
- Experience working with benchtop equipment/tools (like AC-DC sources, meters, scope, and probes)
- Knowledge of device selection for the power supply design.
Asset Skills:
- Proficiency in implementing the control schemes (both analog and digital) for the power supply.
- Experience working with microcontrollers (setting up peripherals like ADC, GPIOs, PWMs etc.) and knowledge of embedded C.
- Able to work independently (with some guidance) on the architecture and design of the power supply from scratch to validating it against the spec/requirements.
- Proficiency working with simulation tools – Simplis, Matlab, Mathcad.
- Experience with GaN device selection.
